Leeds United have been in the midst of a major transfer saga involving the midfield.
Daniel Farke’s hand was forced with injury blows in the middle of the park to skipper Ethan Ampadu and midfield partner Ilia Gruev. Fortunately, Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have both stepped up to fill the void, but reinforcements were still needed.
This led to Leeds being linked with a January move for Liverpool ace Tyler Morton who has made 79 appearances for Championship sides over the last two seasons during loan spells at Hull City and Blackburn Rovers. This deal may even still be on the table.
However, Leeds United need an immediate signing and got it in the shape of Josuha Guilavogui. A free agent since his contract expired at the end of last season at Mainz, he will bring immediate experience to Farke’s midfield.
He is a multi-time winner of domestic cups across Europe, and a seven-time French international. He started his career at Saint Etienne before earning a move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
He really made his name at VfL Wolfsburg however where he was club captain and made 250 appearances. A very smart signing, but he may not be the last experienced midfielder to make it through the door at Elland Road.

Former Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips reportedly wants a return to Elland Road, with officials at his current club Ipswich believing the England international and Euros Finalist wants a return to where he made his name.
It’s been anything but smooth sailing for Phillips since he left Leeds United. Though he was a member of the Manchester City squad who won the treble and was awarded a Premier League winners’ medal, Phillips hardly received any game time at the Etihad.
He then endured an ill-fated loan move to West Ham and now finds himself at Ipswich but is said to be keen on a return to Leeds where he could help ease the midfield woes currently at the club.

leeds have sold many top players over the years and even fetched a few back some they should never have sold Kalvin being one of them
Philips is a spent force. Leeds won’t want to pay his wages just to sit on the bench and there is no way he is displacing any of our midfielders as it stands. We do not play a single pivot and as a two he is pretty shite, Let’s face it. Man City don’t want him, West ham were glad to see the back of him and now Ipswich realise they have got a pig in a poke. Needs a move to Middlesbrough or a team of that ilk. That’s his level now
