Leeds United ended their pre-season tour with a draw against AC Milan. Once again proving that this team is ready to stand toe-to-toe with top level opposition.

This summer, the Whites have faced Manchester United, Villarreal and now, AC Milan and have not lost a game. Defensively, Leeds have been solid, and going forward, there have been promising moments. But just like Daniel Farke said, the quality in the team needs improvement if the club are to stand a chance in the Premier League next season.

There was some concern before the game, as Jayden Bogle continues to be out due to injury.

Milan striker Santiago Gimenez gave Milan the lead just before half time. New signing Anton Stach equalized in the second half with a beautiful strike from just outside the box.

Anton Stach was impressive in the game, showing his skillset. He was strong on the ball, and solid defensively. Another new signing Gabriel Gudmundsson also impressed during the game. But the attack lacked a bit of edge, which Leeds need to resolve ahead of next week.

Former Leeds man Paul Robinson made the same request to the club’s ownership ahead of kickoff.

“I think they’ve signed some good quality, but I think they need a lot more… I’d like to see a big name striker come in”

Who could Leeds sign before the Everton game?

Reports suggest that a move for Rodrigo Muniz is still on the cards. There are claims from Italy that Fulham could budge on their initial valuation of the Brazilian after contract talks stalled.

Liverpool youngster Ben Doak is a surprise option, which Leeds could sign if they can meet Liverpool’s £20million asking price.

Having watched the match today Leeds need the remaining signings without delay. Schmit is not up to the standard so support in this position is desperately needed. An effective striker and a number 10 that can provide the catalyst to play is vital. I can’t see Okey Doak being the answer, we need someone more influential, capable of allowing Stack and others to bring out the skills they clearly possess. The start of the season is often a mixed affair before the teams settle in to their strengths – this is the time Leeds need to take advantage and grab as many points as they can. If the 49s think we can pick up points later on easily – they are in the wrong sport.

Stach is scoring goals. He looks a player. Best midfield now might be without Ampadu? Mitrovic would be lovely imo.
