Pundit believes Jesse Marsch would have saved Leeds from relegation

Pundit Clinton Morrison said Jesse Marsch was very unlucky to be sacked and that the American would have kept Leeds United in the Premier League.

March was dismissed last week after the 49-year-old lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The American left with the club in 17th place, two points off the bottom of the league table. The board took a decision to sack him after he went on a run of games which collected just two wins from 17 league games.

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison believes the decision was a hard one:

“It’s a difficult one, listen it was a struggle at Leeds, but I still thought if he was in charge Leeds would have survived.” he told Sky Sports News.

“I thought the team that they had and [with the] quality of players they are good enough to stay in the Premier League.”

“But something wasn’t right at that football club, so they’ve moved him on.”

Morrison also backed his confidence in Jesse Marsch saying that he was good enough for Southampton:

“If Leeds have sacked Marsch in and around the relegation battle, then why would Southampton want to get a manager that’s in and around it?”

After another defeat to Everton, Leeds welcome Southampton to Elland Road.
