Leeds United are in some steady form at the moment, and are chasing a return to the Premier League.
Leeds are currently level on points with second place Burnley on 22 points and three points adrift of leaders Sunderland. They perhaps should be top had they held on and beaten Sunderland before the international break and would have done if not for an Illian Meslier blunder.
Since then, Leeds have dispatched both Sheffield United and Watford, shaking off their disappointment. After a sluggish start, many are starting to wonder if Leeds will have what it takes to secure promotion this year.

Sky Sports pundit brutally shuts down Leeds United hopes

Despite the impressive form Leeds have shown lately, Sky Sports pundit Danny Mills has brutally shut down Leeds fans’ hopes of going on a run, saying on Sky Sports News:
“I was there last night and the fans were saying ‘we’ll go on a run now’, and I’m thinking ‘steady on’. You’re 11 games into the season so be careful about that.”
He then added: “When it’s going well, Leeds have one of the best atmospheres; when it’s not going so well it’s a tough place to play and a lot of players got found out last year.”
This seems like a strange statement since last season Leeds overcame a sluggish start and were the form team for much of the season. Having already proven that they are capable of shut a run of form, it is believed that if they can do so again this season, surely the Premier League will be awaiting the West Yorkshire club.
Despite these comments from Mills, fellow Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has had a very different take. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to back Leeds for promotion.
“Massive club and huge fan base! Can see Leeds getting back into the Premier League this year.”
Perhaps the only thing that could stop Leeds is their injury worries with one star revealing a potentially heartbreaking update on social media which you can read about here.

Neither Merson or Mills are anyone to take a huge amount of notice of unless you want a laugh. Either would be well suited to presenting “you’ve been framed”.
