Ian Poveda left Leeds United for Blackburn Rovers last Monday on what will be a season long loan with no option to buy. Former teammate Raheem Sterling has had his say over on Instagram.
Poveda took to social media to express his happiness at the move, posting an image of himself with a Blackburn Rovers shirt and new manager Toby Mowbray. He captioned the post ‘Can’t wait to get started’ and will look to play a part in Blackburn’s match against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Former Manchester City teammate Raheem Sterling commented on the post himself. The England star said ‘Let’s go Genna Genna’ (Genna is Patois English for general).
Leeds will be hoping Poveda will have a similar experience at Blackburn to that of Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliot. Elliot spent last season on loan at Ewood Park and improved massively over his time with the club, and is now starting for Liverpool so far this season.
