The Leeds United website says the Slovenian has signed on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. It took a few days to finalize the deal, but the player has finally arrived.

Bijol’s first words for the club were about how big the move is to him:

“This is a big day for me, for my family and I’m happy to be here.

“Maybe the biggest one of my career so far, but I’m ready for it,”

Ranking Leeds United defender after the latest signing

Leeds now have a depth in central defence with the arrival of Bijol. Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Max Wober and Jaka Bijol is very decent set of defenders to head into the Premier League with.

Now, we can rank these four first team stars according to who is most likely to start next season.

The Slovenian is yet to kick a ball at Elland Road, but he undoubtedly has to be the best center back at the club. Having played in the Serie A and being an experienced option with his national team is a testament to his quality. Bijol won 105 aerial duels in Serie A this season, the fifth highest in the league

2nd – Joe Rodon

Rodon has been arguably the best defender at the club since he first joined. Calm and composed on the ball, and deals with danger with ease. The Welshman’s ability on the ball was unparalleled last season. Rodon had a 92.2% pass completion rate, the highest in the Championship.

3rd – Pascal Struijk

The club captain has come a long way in the team. Struijk has developed so much since he made his debut for the club. He has developed maturity and is now a real leader at the back. He is also a fantastic tackler; in the 2022/23 Premier League season he won the second-most tackles in the league.

4th – Max Wober

He had a solid start to life at the club, but then his performances started to slip. Wober’s form has now fallen off a cliff, and he’s now rightfully fourth choice in the pecking order.
