There are a number of positions Victor Orta and Leeds United want to address this summer and near the top of that list is left-back.
The Yorkshire club are desperate to sign an out and out left-back this summer who can provide solidity in defence but also be a weapon going forward.
According to Spanish news outlet Marca, Leeds United entered into advanced talks to secure a £12.8 million deal for Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo in the last 24 hours. The 24-year-old made 18 appearances last year for the Catalan giants but is no longer wanted at the Nou Camp.
It seems like the deal is nearly done with reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeting that the transfer is confirmed with the details just to be sorted out.
The Twitter verified journalist also said that AC Milan are no longer in the race now that Leeds look set to secure the services of the fullback.
Leeds are set to sign Junior Firpo from Barcelona, confirmed. The agreement will be completed for €15m + add ons, final details then deal done. 🚨 #LUFC #FCB
AC Milan are currently out of the race as Barça prefer to sell Firpo on permanent deal, as reported by @tjuanmarti.

Orta always planned to bring in a left-back as early as possible in the window and it appears within the next few days his wish will have come true.
