Leeds United are set to face Plymouth Argyle next Saturday, but although the Whites are the favorite, manager Daniel Farke halted any thoughts of this being an easy match.
After two consecutive home wins following the international break, Leeds struggled to score in a 0-0 draw with Bristol City at Ashton Gate. They had previously celebrated a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United and a 2-1 win against Watford at Elland Road, hoping to keep that momentum going in their away match against mid-table Bristol City.
On the other hand, Plymouth are coming off a dramatic 3-3 draw with Preston and will be looking to carry that goal-scoring energy into their match against Leeds United.
Daniel Farke shares major concern ahead of Plymouth clash
Plymouth are a bottom-of-the-table Championship side, and the Whites should secure all three points against them. However, Farke isn’t taking them lightly, spotlighting the opponent’s key traits that led to their comeback draw last weekend.
“First of all, we have to repeat again our really good defensive behavior and the controlling of all the counterattacks,” the German manager told the media. “On the other side, we also want to create chances and also to be a bit more effective in using them.
“If you analyze the last eight games of Plymouth, in the away games, they have lost four games, but in the home games, they were unbeaten and won 10 points out of those four games and against really good sides. If you allow them to play, they are a really good football side, they play brave and with courage, and if you allow them to develop their game, they can be dangerous.
“We have to make sure that we do the basics, that we make sure that we don’t allow them to develop their game and then on the other hand also to find some good options to create chances to score goals.
“We know how tough and how tight each and every game is in the Championship and you have to be on it in each and every moment otherwise if you give two per cent less you are in trouble in this league. Elland Road is a fantastic place and so full of emotion, so full of intensity.”
