A Leeds United star reportedly turned down a big move during the summer transfer window.
Leeds failed to reach the Premier League after they lost the Championship playoff final to Southampton in May. It could have gone differently, but the club finished in third outside the automatic promotion spots. Daniel Farke’s mean reached 90 points and scored 81 goals but still failed to finish in second place.
The club had to offload some players in the summer, as they were being courted by Premier League and European clubs. Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Glen Kamara all left Elland Road. Kamara said that the reason he left was because it was difficult to recover from the playoff loss in May.

Leeds United star turned down summer deal
One of the departures during the summer transfer window was Rasmus Kristensen. The Danish defender was one of a host of players signed when Jesse Marsch was in charge in 2022. Kristensen, Adams, Aaronson and Wober arrived that summer for over €80million. Despite the large transfer spend, Marsch was sacked and Leeds were relegated that year.
During the summer a lot of the new signings looked for ways out of the club, as they did not want to play in the Championship. Kristensen was one of them, he joined AS Roma on loan. The Italian club did not take the chance to sign him on a permanent deal so he returned this summer. Kristensen joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The 27-year old has now revealed that he nearly signed for a different club during the summer window. Kristensen had the chance to move to Denmark, but eventually chose to sign with Frankfurt.
“It’s true, there was this offer [from Midtjylland]”, Kristensen told a press conference via Fussball Transfers.
“But the package from Frankfurt was the better one, and they also had a good concept.
“Nevertheless, I can imagine coming back at some point to give something back to the club.”
Kristensen likely to leave the club
Regardless of which club he chose to sign for during the summer, the Danish international will leave the club in the near future. Frankfurt have made it clear they would like to sign him on a permanent deal, and Kristensen is not in the plans of Daniel Farke for the near future.
