The Leeds Press can exclusively reveal that Valencia will pay Leeds €16m (£13.7m) to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Costa has struggled for gametime at the start of the Premier League season with just one substitute appearance in three games.
And, with the signing of Dan James from Manchester United, the chances of Costa making any more inroads into the Leeds starting line-up were diminished even further.
The Portuguese winger did play a key role in United’s promotion from the Championship, but failed to make an impression in Leeds’ maiden season back in the top flight.
