Leeds United have the second best attack in the Championship this season.
The Whites have found the back of the net 24 times, just one goal less than Sunderland who are the top scorers. 24 goals this far into the season is a promising outcome, considering the quality Leeds lost in the summer.
Last year, Crysencio Summerville scored 19 goals and Georginio Rutter provided 15 assists as Leeds scored 81 goals. The club failed to win promotion to the Premier League as they lost the playoff final to Southampton.
Daniel Farke has done an amazing job so far; after 15 games, Leeds United are in third place, two points off the top of the table. Fans at the club are still disappointed that they did not take the chance to enter the international break as the league leaders. Leeds lost 1-0 to Millwall last week, which set the back behind the league leaders Sunderland.

Leeds United to target attackers in January

This season, Leeds’ top scorer has been Joel Piroe with just six goals. The next highest is Brenden Aaronson with four. Largie Ramazani, Wilfried Gnonto, Dan James and Mateo Joseph are the only other forwards to have scored a goal this campaign.
Manor Solomon was brought in to boost the attack, but so far has found himself on the bench. Ramazani has been great, but injury problems have seen him play just eight league games. This has lead to growing speculation that Leeds will sign an attacker soon.
Dom Howson has speculated that Daniel Farke will be looking to sign an attacking player in January:
“Signing a new forward is likely to be at the top of Daniel Farke’s shopping list heading into the January transfer window.” He wrote via LeedsLive.
“Leeds United, currently third in the Championship, were thwarted in their attempts to bring in a No 10 last summer.”
In the closing stages of the summer transfer window, Leeds pushed hard for Sheffield United attacking midfielder Gustavo Hamer, but a deal failed to materialize.
The team needs more firepower
It was always going to be difficult to replace Summerville, who was voted Championship Player of the Year. His 19 goals were the reason why Leeds did so well last year. Losing the creativity of Summerville and Rutter has affected the attack.
Joel Piroe doesn’t get as much service as he did last year, but he has done a good job to get six goals so far. If Daniel Farke wants to push for promotion, an attacker should be the main priority on his January list.
