Robbie Keane makes huge Premier League claim about Leeds United – former star is hopeful about Daniel Farke

The return of Leeds United to the Premier League has been a huge boost for everyone in the football community. One of the country’s biggest clubs is back in the top flight.

And they did it in the craziest way possible. Leeds and Burnley went into the final day of the season level on points. The Whites knew that they needed to match the Clarets’ result to win the title.

Things went off to a bad start when Leeds went a goal down to Plymouth. In the Burnley game, they took the lead in the second half and sealed their game in the dying minutes. Wilfried Gnonto scored the equalizer, and Manor Solomon scored the winner in injury time to secure the league title.

Since Leeds got promoted, former players and pundits alike have had a lot of praise for their team. They are all happy that the club is back in the top flight. Gary Lineker and more recently Rio Ferdinand spoke about how Leeds’ return benefits the Premier League.

Former Whites star Robbie Keane said he is glad the club is back in the top flight:

“I’m delighted for Leeds, another of my former clubs, after they won the Championship,” said Keane (quotes via YEP).

“They’re a great club with a great fanbase, and you could see that in the atmosphere at the end of the season.

Keane also hoped that Leeds stick with Daniel Farke going forward.

“I hope Leeds will back the manager next season and it’s not going to be the case where three teams go up just to get relegated.

“Hopefully they’ve give the backing to the manager to sign some players that can keep them steady in the top flight for a couple of years, and then hopefully kick on from there.

“They’re definitely a club that deserves to be in the Premier League.”

Leeds have to find a way to survive next season

Making the Premier League is one thing, but surviving for another season is the best step to maintaining your status. That is what Fulham and Brentford focused on before establishing themselves in the division. Leeds now need to add a lot more quality to make sure that Elland Road sees Premier League football again next year.
