WATCH: New Leeds signing Rodrigo scoring against Chelsea last season

Spain forward Rodrigo is now in Yorkshire to complete his move from Valencia to Leeds United.

It’s a transfer that will see The Whites pay £27 million plus add-ons, smashing their previous record of £18 million for Rio Ferdinand some 20 years ago.

Now the questions begin… Is he worth it? is he good enough? Will he score enough goals?

Despite only scoring seven last term, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes Leeds are getting value for money in the 29-year-old.

Balague describes Rodrigo as a modern-day number nine, a player that will bring his teammates into play and shut down the opposition quickly.

He appears to be a Marcelo Bielsa player, which makes sense, given Leeds have gone all out to get him ahead of their first Premier League season in 16 years.

Having played in this season’s Champions League and become a regular starter for Spain, Rodrigo’s arrival at Elland Road will provide more excitement ahead of their top-flight return.

A huge favourite with the Valencia fans since his arrival at the club in 2015, the Brazilian-born forward has goals against Real Madrid and Barcelona to his name in recent seasons.

He also scored the winning goal against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea last season, something that is sure to put a smile on the face of many Leeds fans.
