Scott Parker hails Leeds United loanee Leif Davis after Bournemouth debut

The Championship is a division that Leeds fans have unfortunately become too familiar with over the years, but the new season gives them a reason to be interested without the dread that comes alongside a gruelling Championship season.

Left back Leif Davis is highly thought of at Elland Road, but the time has come for him to earn some first team football and with the arrival of Junior Firpo from Barcelona earlier in the summer, he’s unlikely to get that at Leeds right now.

So Leeds sent the 21-year-old on loan to the Championship where he will spend the season at Bournemouth, who are managed by former Fulham boss Scott Parker. Davis appeared as a substitute in Bournemouth’s victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend and his new manager was full of praise for the young man.

“Leif’s trained fully, one day… He’s had three of four days with the fitness guys”. Parker alluded to how recently Davis had returned from injury and was impressed with how he was still able to deliver a solid performance. “He showed he was brilliant coming on there.”

It will be interesting to see how Davis does at Bournemouth as they battle for promotion back to the Premier League, but he’s managed to get off to a great start if his current manager’s words are anything to go by.
