Scott Parker makes statement on possible Leeds United deal – Premier League factor mentioned

Leeds United and Burnley have pushed each other this season. It was very fitting that both clubs gained automatic promotion on the same day. Now, the two sides have a chance to lift the league title on the final day of the season.

The Whites and the Clarets are level on 97 points heading into Saturday’s fixtures. All Leeds need is a win to secure the trophy. But in the event things do not go as planned, all Daniel Farke’s men need to do is match Burnley’s result. Every game this weekend kicks off at the same time.

Leeds already snatched a player from promotion rivals before the season began. Jayden Bogle moved to Elland Road from Sheffield United, and has been a revelation this season. With the summer transfer window coming up, it looks like the Whites could repeat the trick. Leeds have been linked with James Trafford, as the club look to replace Illan Meslier at the end of the season.

Leeds United to suffer transfer blow

The Whites believe they can tempt the Burnley keeper to switch sides before the Premier League season begins.

But this has been shot down in the last few days, as Scott Parker made a statement on his club’s players. The Clarets boss revealed that he will try to keep his best players at Turf Moor this summer:

“This core group, I have absolutely nothing but admiration for them, a real appreciation.

“I’m proud too. Proud more than I could ever be of every single one of them.

“I often reference that I’ve got four sons of my own. But probably every single one of these [players], I look them in the eye and feel that proud feeling you get, that’s exactly how I feel now.

“We’ve got a challenge next year, that’s very, very clear. But it will be a challenge that we are absolutely relishing. We’re going into the big league and that’s exactly where we all want to be and we’ll relish every opportunity of that.”

The Clarets are now expected to keep their key players this summer.

Leeds to miss out on James Trafford

One of Burnley’s best players this campaign has been James Trafford. The England international has been amazing between the sticks, and is the main reason why fans at Turf Moor will witness Premier League football next season.

Trafford will have many suitors this summer, and Burnley will be reluctant to let him go. Leeds need to focus on other targets this summer.
