Sheffield United want £18million for Leeds United target

According to Alan Nixon, Sheffield United are holding out for around £18million for Leeds United target Gustavo Hamer. The Whites saw a £13million bid rejected earlier.

With Leeds United increasingly active in the transfer market this week, the club have been linked with multiple names ahead of the deadline.

Leeds got their first league win of the season against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, a 2-0 win away from home. Daniel Farke believes the win was Leeds’ best performance this season.

Gustavo Hamer the latest transfer target

Leeds United completed a deal to sign Belgian winger Largie Ramazani from Almeria, and the club have also finalized the signing of Spurs forward Manor Solomon.

The Spurs loanee said he was ready to play after signing for Leeds United:

“I am really happy to be here.

“I’ve heard a lot about the club, about its fans, about the heritage, the history. I know it’s a massive club in England and I’m looking forward to seeing the fans and to meet them all.

“As soon as the interest from Leeds came, I started to look for the players, for the coach and I’ve spoken with the manager and he explained to me about the style of playing, about the players that there are in Leeds.

“I know there is a group of great lads, young people with great desire, with great techniques and I’m looking forward to playing with them and to help them in the best way I can.

“I just want to get going.”

The Whites have also been linked to Burnley winger Manuel Benson, who is on his way out of the club after three new players completed medicals at Turf Moore

Sheffield United reject initial bid

Leeds reportedly had a £13million bid rejected for Gustavo Hamer. Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said in a press conference that a club had made an offer for the Blades’ star player and that the bid was “a million miles off”. It was heavily speculated that the comment was about Leeds’ initial bid for the midfielder:

“There have been a couple of bids for players; one was pretty close and another was a million miles off. If and when decisions on players get made by the board then I’ll get notified and we have to have a plan and be ready. It’s a bit of me looking into the future and trying to see who potentially might go.”

Alan Nixon reported that Leeds would need to increase the bid to about £18million to seal any deal for Hamer.

Leeds United are not done signing

Max Aarons has been linked to the club this week. Hungary forward Roland Sallai has also been linked with the club, his team are looking for around €9million according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Leeds United will be hoping to beef up their squad ahead of this weekend’s game against Hull City.
