Leeds United fans are convinced the club had a poor transfer window based on how they ended it. In the final weeks, and even on deadline day, everyone expect at least one signing, but nothing panned out.
The past window had a lot of disappointments; the club missed out on some big names including Igor Paixao and Rodrigo Muniz. When Leeds managing director was asked about how the club missed out on the big names he said the team had ”maxed out” their PSR. Which meant signing players above the budget would be difficult.
But some fans got some relief when Facundo Buonanotte was dropped from Chelsea’s Champions League squad. The Argentine snubbed a move to Elland Road as the Blues hijacked the deal at the last minute.

Looks like another player who rejected a move to Leeds is not in the best of situations to start this season. Rangers star Nicolas Raskin has been dropped from the squad to face Hearts this weekend. The midfielder turned down the opportunity to join Leeds very late in the window, as he wanted to force his way back into the team. That was actually the second time the 24-year old turned down a move to West Yorkshire; he was a serious target before his initial move to Scotland.
Now, Rangers boss Russell Martin has taken a shock decision on the Belgian. This is what the former Southampton coach had to say about the decision:
“He won’t be in the squad tomorrow. We have a lot of conversations as we do with every player, but he’s back training with the squad which is a good step.
“Now, like every player, he has a duty to make sure he earns the trust of all his other teammates, coaching staff and the staff in the building to help us win football matches. It’s the same for every player here.
“The most important thing is Nico knows why, the players know why and we all move forward and we have to win football matches now.”
With the transfer windows around Europe closing soon Raskin, valued at £25million, could look for a way out.
