Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has been one of the signings of the summer. He is arguably the best player the Whites snapped up in the last window, and he has wasted little time in becoming their best player on the pitch at the start of the season.

The Whites felt that they pulled off a coup to convince the midfielder to move from Hoffenheim to Elland Road in the summer. He had offers from clubs in the Champions League, but he opted to join the newly promoted Premier League outfit.

Stach has been an imposing figure for Leeds in the middle of the park at the start of the season and is seen as one of the players who could be key to keeping the Whites in the Premier League this season.

He is only second to Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes in terms of creating chances in the first three games, but it appears the midfielder has broken more records than we actually noticed at the start of the campaign.

Can you name these 10 former Leeds United midfielders?

Leeds United star Anton Stach equals six-year Premier League record

Stach is more or less a defensive midfielder, but has emerged as the creative hub of the Leeds team at the start of the season.

He created ten chances in the first three Premier League games, but it has emerged that he has also gone on to equal a record set in 2019 by another player managed by Daniel Farke.

Statistician Jonny Cooper revealed that Stach is only the second player since 2019 to create more than three chances in each of his first three Premier League appearances. His consistency in chance creation has immediately set him apart in the league.

The last player to achieve this feat was Emiliano Buendia, who did so under Farke at Norwich City back in 2019. Buendia also managed to create more than three chances in each of his first three top-flight matches, drawing a clear parallel between the two.

Stach will hope to keep his form going and set a new record when Leeds take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Farke will hope he does better with Leeds than that Norwich team

Buendia and Norwich made a good start to the 2019/20 season in the Premier League, but Farke’s team were eventually relegated back to the Championship.

Farke is desperate to improve his record in the Premier League and will hope Stach does better than what Buendia achieved over the course of that season.

The German has looked a class apart at the start of the season, and has shown why he had suitors among a few Champions League clubs in the summer.

He will play a big role if Leeds are to avoid Norwich’s fate and stay in the Premier League at the end of the season.
