Real Betis will not sign Leeds United striker Mateo Joseph
Mateo Joseph’s decision to put in a transfer request and not turn up for pre-season training with Leeds has not won him any friends at the club.
The forward tried to push his way out of Leeds and wanted to return to Spain with Real Betis. However, the Whites rejected the offer from the Spanish club to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
The Whites are only interested in straightforward loan offers, and they have found a taker in Mallorca, who are in advanced talks to sign him from Leeds.
According to Spanish journalist Pepe Elias, Real Betis are more or less out of the race to sign the young Leeds striker in the ongoing transfer window.
They wanted the buy option, but Leeds were having none of it, and the Spanish club are now considering other options this summer.
Mallorca are in pole position to get a deal over the line and secure the signature of Joseph on a loan until the end of the season.
