Six weeks – Daniel Farke provides timeline for Leeds United star’s return

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has revealed that Max Wober won’t be returning to training for another month-and-half after he undergoes surgery on Tuesday.

Wober has not played a league game for Leeds and suffered a knee injury when he was on international duty for Austria earlier this month.

The defender recently returned to training earlier this month but suffered another setback in his rehabilitation process.

It emerged last week that he will be left out of the Austria squad for next month’s international fixtures and the defender could undergo surgery to fix his knee problem.

The Leeds boss has now confirmed that the defender will go under the knife in order to repair that problem he has been struggling with since the last international break.

Farke provided a timeline for Leeds United star’s return

Wober will undergo the surgery on Tuesday ahead of facing a lengthy rehabilitation process ahead of returning to the Leeds squad.

The Leeds manager revealed that it would take a while and it would be at least six weeks before he could return to training with the rest of the squad.

The defender did return to training earlier this month before suffering the set-back and Leeds are likely to be more careful to make sure that his rehabilitation goes smoother.

“Max Wober set for surgery tomorrow”, the Leeds boss said in a press conference.

“Meniscus repair, six weeks ‘til he’s back in team training.”

Leeds have a few issues at the back as they will also be missing Ethan Ampadu for ten weeks after he sustained an injury on Saturday.

The Welshman will not need surgery but it will be until January before they see their club captain in action again this season.

The Whites will hope the other defenders step up and make sure that they don’t miss Ampadu and Wober in the coming weeks.
