Leeds United know that they need to add quality to the squad this summer. To stand any chance of survival in the Premier League, they need some very good recruitment.
Money will not be an issue, as club chairman Paraag Marathe vowed to the fans that the team will spend. Daniel Farke will continue working alongside the recruitment team. After influencing the inspired signings of Ao Tanaka and Manor Solomon this season, fans will hope similar moves can be made this summer.
One area of the squad that may need immediate reinforcements is at center forward. The Premier League is a very tough competition, and newly promoted clubs will find it hard to score goals.

Because of that, getting clinical players up top is a priority. As it stands, Joel Piroe is the only option in the squad with a record of scoring goals. This was why Leeds were heavily linked to Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson over the last week. Any move for Wilson is on hold after the latest news from Tyneside.
Jamie Vardy is yet to make a decision on his future. But pundit Don Goodman thinks the 38-year old would be better off as an impact player off the bench if he signs a deal at Elland Road:
“I think the big thing with regards to Jamie Vardy is where does he want to be? Does he want to be at a club where he’s going to play most weeks, week in week out, or does he want to be at a Premier League club where likely he will be probably an impact substitute?” he said to FLW.
“The choice remains his, because there’s no doubt he still has the ability to score goals at the highest levels. So, Crystal Palace, he would be excellent. Leeds – he’s been linked with – would be excellent in terms of being a goal threat, probably by way of being an impact player from the bench.”
Goodman has a point
Jamie Vardy is 38-year old and started 35 games in the Premier League this season. He has shown some durability for his age. But what everyone overlooks is that he only completed 20 games this season.
Which means he was subbed off 15 times during the campaign. Leicester had a smart way of managing him in games. And Leeds would need to look into this if they plan on signing the former England international.
