Last season, Joel Piroe played almost every game in the Championship for Leeds United. He ended the campaign as top scorer but there were still problems.
Daniel Farke used to play the Dutchman week in, week out even when he was out of form. And he went long stretches without scoring, which infuriated the fans. Most of this was down to the fact that the backups in his role were not trusted enough. Patrick Bamford was rarely available, while Mateo Joseph found it difficult to get starts.
So it looks like the plan this summer was to add depth to the attack.

Lucas Nmecha was the first signing of the transfer window; an experienced options with a bit of quality. But the reports added that another striker would come through the door. So far, news from Italy have reported that Leeds are locked in discussions with Lecce for Nikola Krstovic.
Graeme Bailey has now shared the latest news involving the Montenegro international:
“He’s obviously been mentioned to Leeds at some point.” he told Leeds United News.
“He clearly has. I know for a fact he has, so he’s obviously made it onto the list, from what I’ve heard. He’s just not very high on it. One of many. Leeds aren’t panicking, they’re doing the right things.”
Multiple outlets reported that Leeds had agreed a transfer fee, but Krstovic is unlikely to agree personal terms. It looks like the club will take the same patience they did during the Habib Diarra talks.

This week, Besiktas star Semih Kilicsoy has been heavily linked. It is believed that the Turkish club are willing to offer a cut price deal for the youngster.

Kilicsoy is young, but he does not shy from the spotlight. He burst onto the scene scoring 11 goals last season, and even now that his form has dipped, he could be a key signing. The 19-year old is fast, can operate out wide and has an eye for goal. Leeds can get him for as low as £13million this summer.
