Leeds United fans will have mixed reactions entering the international break. Their feelings about the Premier League results so far and the end of the transfer window will determine their outlook for the rest of the season.
Daniel Farke’s side have taken four points from a possible nine in the Premier League. Huge positives can be taken from the win over Everton and the draw with Newcastle United. The losses to Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday do not make for pleasant reading.
The transfer deadline day ended on a disappointing note as the club ended the day without a single signing.

There was a lot of discussions around the events of deadline day. Leeds fans went into that Monday night expecting that the club could at least make one signing on the day. Even head coach Daniel Farke admitted that the club were looking at options. Over the weekend, it was reported that names like Dilane Bakwa, Bilal El Khannouss and Gus Hamer were on the shortlist.
The for some reason, the main target was Fulham’s Harry Wilson. Leeds engaged the London club over a move, and even had a loan bid rejected before proposing a permanent deal. Everything look set, with Fulham open to making the deal on the day. But for some reason, the transfer fell through and the deal broke down, leaving the Whites without an attacking signing.
LeedsAllOver revealed that Wilson was on the club’s list for a while, and even earlier in the summer. But they were not able to complete the deal as Fulham were not changing their stance.
What Robbie Evans said about failed move
When Leeds United managing director Robbie Evans was questioned about the move, he had some interesting words to say:
“It’s pretty straightforward in that we had a player targeted, and it didn’t come through. We thought we had the right price.
”We put the offer in above that price, the player was on board. Club couldn’t get it done. Their club couldn’t get it done.
”We sent the deal sheet in after being given some indication it could work. But they were also doing three deals at once, coming in yesterday.
”So Fulham signed 85 million euros worth of wingers yesterday. And whether it was out of time or they just decided not to sell, we don’t know.”
