Former Leeds United standout Archie Gray spoke to Sky Sports and is opening up about his first few months at Tottenham Hotspur after his switch from the Yorkshire side this past summer.

During the summer transfer window, Leed sold their rising star to Tottenham for a reported £30 million. Tottenham have landed a standout player who has only begun tapping into his potential.

Last season, Gray played in 52 matches for Leeds and contributed two assists. Despite his young age, he displayed versatility, stepping in as a right-back and playing in the midfield throughout the campaign.

One reason the teenager is with the North London side is manager Ange Postecoglou. While the 59-year-old is easing the former Leeds youth product into his role with the team, Gray notes that the relationship between the two is excellent, and he’s been a massive fan of the Australian.

“He’s been amazing so far,” Gray told the English media outlet. “Like I said, I’ve been grateful with all of my managers and definitely with the manager now, I’m really grateful. I’ve always said that I’ve been a massive fan of him and the things that I’ve learnt off him so far have been, like I said, priceless in a way.

“I think I can learn so much more as well. He knows so much about the game, and he’s had so much experience, especially where he’s been. He’s really good with young players, not only young players, with everyone in the team. So hopefully, I’ve got a lot to learn.”

The 18-year-old has made five appearances for Spurs this season, as the North London club gradually works him into the starting lineup. So far, Gray has started twice—once in the EFL Cup and again in the UEFA Europa League under Postecoglou.

Gray didn’t participate in this weekend’s victory over Manchester United on Sunday at Old Trafford for Tottenham. It’ll be interesting to see if Gray gets more Premier League starts as the season unfolds or if he’ll mainly feature in domestic cups and the Europa League this year.
