Leeds United continue their search to improve their squad ahead of next season. The club know the task they have ahead of them in the Premier League.

Recruiting as a newly promoted club is kind of difficult sometimes. You end up having to overpay some players to convince them to join you in a relegation battle. So sometimes, opening up the scope for scouting in the way. Leeds have done a good job of that in the last two years.

Daniel Farke’s experience in Germany has got the club Illia Gruev and Ao Tanaka. Tanaka was a sensation this season, and was even voted Players’ Player of the Year. Ian Wright recently praised the Japanese international, and said he was keen on watching him next season.

Sources at Elland Road have claimed that Daniel Farke is keen to add firepower ahead of next season. A striker, and possibly an attacking midfielder could be signed this summer.

Links to Krasnodar attacking midfielder Eduard Spertsyan have resurfaced. Russian outlet Sports Express have revealed that Leeds are following up on their interest in January, and could push to sign the 24-year old. Spertsyan was key as Krasnodar won the Russian Premier League this past weekend.

The attacking midfielder commented on his future after winning the game, saying he could leave the club in the summer:

“We’ll see if I play again for Krasnodar. It’s no secret that I want to try myself in Europe. I kept my promise — now it’s time for Europe,”

Spertsyan was valued around £18million when he was linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund earlier this year.

Spertsyan could become a starter under Daniel Farke

Brenden Aaronson has been criticized for large parts of last season, but still had some decent output. But going into the Premier League, many expect Daniel Farke to find an upgrade. The Leeds United boss mentioned last summer that his deal profile for an attacking midfielder is more creative, hence why he put in a bid to sign Gus Hamer.

Spertsyan is similar to the Blades midfielder, both are dynamic players who can score and create from advanced areas.
