Sunderland is not a club that Leeds United fans will want to hear after the last couple of weeks. The Black Cats have directly influenced some transfer dealings at Elland Road.

After improving important parts of the squad, Leeds set their sights on adding midfielders. The main target was Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra. Leeds reached out and had positive conversations with the French club over a move. However, reports were that the player was not really convinced.

The Whites submitted just one bid, but backed off when the French club wanted a higher fee. Sunderland then swooped in to sign the Senegalese midfielder. Then days later, the Black Cats announced a deal for Union Saint-Gilloise midfielder Noah Sadiki.

The 20-year old revealed that he held talks with Leeds:

“Actually, I only talked to the people from Sunderland, Frankfurt and Leeds, who had also made an offer. My choice for Sunderland is also a kind of bet with myself. I want to know how it feels to play in the best league in the world and see where I stand against better teams.”

Earlier this week, reports from France suggested that Leeds had made a bid for Nice winger Jeremie Boga.

Sources around the club have not confirmed this news, making it unlikely. Now, reports from Turkey claim that both Leeds and Sunderland are interested in Boga. He is also wanted by Trabzonspor, who have been told that £10million would be enough for the French side to sanction a sale.

Current depth in the wing positions

Leeds’ wide options are solid, but one would think that since Manor Solomon has left, a replacement would be brought in.

The club are going into the Premier League with Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani as their man options. Surely another attacker would be brought in to boost the numbers in the position.

Boga is not someone that fits Leeds’ transfer plan

Unfortunately, Jeremie Boga really does not fit what Leeds United are looking for this summer. He has no value outside being a very good dribbler, something almost every current option can provide.

The 28-year old’s production has not been impressive, he has nine goals in his last five league seasons. Boga should not be a target at the club because he does not add anything new to the options.

Beginning to think that all the Sunderland recruitment team do is read these pages, find out who we are after then go out and buy them. We ought to put up that we are after Vardy, Wilson and DCL. Then watch em go…lol
