It is near the end of July, and there have only been two major departures from Leeds United this summer. This in stark contrast to the number of signings brought in already.
Five new players have put pen to paper on permanent deals for the club, while a potential sixth could arrive on Monday. Hoffenheim star Anton Stach is currently undergoing his medical ahead of a move. Leeds are set to complete their double midfield swoop to strengthen the middle of the park. A move for a new number 10 however, is not priority according to sources.
Junior Firpo left on a free after failing to sign a new deal, and Max Wober has joined Werder Bremen on a loan deal. There remains a large group of players that have been linked with moves away since last month.
Illan Meslier, Patrick Bamford, Jack Harrison, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt are still all under contract.

Daniel Farke reveals Leeds United exit

After Leeds’ first pre-season friendly, Daniel Farke has been sharing key information on plans involving some players. The futures of Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison have been somewhat confirmed after weeks of speculation.
Farke’s words after Saturday’s game seem to confirm that youngster James Debayo has left the club.
“Yes, we’re on a good path. That’s definitely for sure. Really good signings. Really good incomings.
“We have proven players, in a really good age, with top character. I think, character-wise, with everyone who will speak here, they will 100% confirm this that they fit into the group.
“We have, for example, replaced two centre-backs — Max Wober and James Debayo — with Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw.”
Debayo reportedly had an offer on the table after his contract expired, but now it looks like his future has been decided.
Sebastiaan Bornauw’s role has been confirmed
After the new signing backed himself to be a part of the first team next season, it appears Farke has now decided his place. Bornauw will take the place of Max Wober, who was the backup for the team at the end of last season.
The battle to see who make the two starting spots at center back will be one to keep an eye on.
Huge battle between Rodon, Struijk and Bijol to see who starts
Leeds now have three quality players fighting for two starting positions. Barring a sale, this will be the competition for next season. Farke now has to see which combination best offers the solution for the club.
Bijol was one of the most underrated defenders in Italy, and he adds size and athleticism to the team. Rodon was almost flawless last season, while Pascal Struijk is the club captian, and arguably the best passer of the ball among the trio.
