Swansea City boss gives brutally honest opinion on Leeds United – Leeds will give them a footballing lesson

Leeds United are set to host Swansea City at Elland Road on Saturday. There is a lot of talk around Leeds’ current patchy form and the possibility of Daniel Farke’s men imploding at the business end of the season. However, Swansea City boss Alan Sheehan is not paying any attention to the chatter and is acutely aware of the challenge his team are set to face this weekend.

Farke and his men are preparing to get over their patchy run of form and return to winning ways when they host Swansea at Elland Road on Saturday.

Leeds United have won just two of their last five games, which has tightened the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, but they remain at the summit of the Championship table and are favourites to get promoted.

The chatter around Leeds’ recent form has been growing noisier, but Sheehan is not taking the Whites any lightly and is aware that his team are in for one of the toughest tests in the Championship.

Leeds United at Elland Road are the toughest game of the season – Swansea boss

Leeds and Swansea played out a seven-goal thriller at the Liberty Stadium earlier in the season, which the Whites won via an injury-time winner from Wilfried Gnonto.

However, times have changed since then. Luke Williams got sacked in February and Sheehan has been in charge as a caretaker manager since then.

He played for Leeds during his playing career and insisted that he is under no illusion about the kind of challenge his team will face at Elland Road on Saturday.

Sheehan insisted Leeds remain the best team in the Championship with quality players all over the pitch.

“They’re a top team for this league. To butter it up any other way would be silly”, Sheehan said in a press conference.

“It’s probably the toughest game of the season. To go to Elland Road, it’s going to be a hell of a challenge. Doesn’t really matter what form they’re on, you know what challenge you’re going to get when you go to Elland Road. Top, top team for the Championship.

“I think they’ve got quality all over the field, really. High, high-level players for this division, and that’s why they are where they are.”

Sheehan must avoid looking at Leeds United’s home record, and especially one stat

While nothing is given in the Championship, Leeds must put Swansea to the sword and signal their intentions to their rivals at the business end of the season.

Swans still need some points to guarantee safety, but Leeds should have way too much quality for a side that sit 16th in the Championship table.

Can you name the Leeds game these 10 goal celebrations are from?

Leeds have been imperious at Elland Road, and it looks even more impressive when you consider Leeds have won all six of their home games at three o’clock this season, scoring 21 unanswered goals.

It’s the kind of record that makes sure opposition teams feel defeated even before they step on the pitch, and anything less than a Leeds win on Saturday would be a major shock.
