Leeds United have come very far since their days in the Championship. As soon as last season ended, the Whites were tipped to go down.
Daniel Farke, who was yet to manage one Premier League game was also tipped to be sacked. Rumours emerged that the 49ers wanted a more experienced coach to take over before the season began. But club Chairman Paraag Marathe came out to squash these rumours and publicly backed Farke.
Leeds were given money to spend in the summer to upgrade the squad to give them an upper hand in the fight for survival.
Talksport pundit gives verdict on Leeds United boss Daniel Farke
It was just over a month ago that the Whites fell briefly into the relegation zone, with all the major outlets tipping Farke to be sacked. Since then, the club have turned things around. At this point of the season, they have a healthy gap between themselves and the relegation zone, and recently recorded a huge win over Fulham in the Premier League.
talkSPORT‘s Danny Kelly thinks Daniel Farke has not gotten enough credit for the work he has done at the club this season:
“They made substitutions because they were getting battered in that second half by Leeds.
“People damn him by saying he’s a specialist in the Championship, he has changed the system of that club and he deserves fantastic credit for it because he changed it to a system that on paper, looks more defensive but he did it to give them more chance of winning matches and not just by nicking a goal, but by making more pressure in the oppositions half.
“They’re still looking over their shoulder, I get that, but they’ve done fantastically well, and the manager is not getting the credit he deserves for this.
“This has been a remarkable change at Leeds United.”

Farke deserves huge credit for turnaround
Daniel Farke deserves huge credit for the turnaround since December. Not only that, the Leeds boss has actively improved on the weaknesses the fanbase have complained about the whole campaign.

There were concerns about his team selection, and now he often picks a winning side. Fans claimed he reacts late to changes the opponent makes mid-game; but since the Manchester City game he has got his substitutions spot on. His tinkering was also the reason why the club changed to the 3-5-2 and adjusted the roles of Brenden Aaronson and Jaka Bijol, who are playing very well.
