The 5 players guaranteed to start for Leeds United on the first day of next season

Leeds United are yet to secure promotion in a tight race but the hope is the Whites will be in the Premier League at the start of the 2025/26 season. The Yorkshire giants have eight games to ensure they are in the Premier League, and the top flight will bring a squad overhaul in the summer transfer window. However, a few players in the current squad will likely be in the team at the start of the new campaign as well.

If the Whites get promoted to the Premier League they would have little time to celebrate as they would be starting at a massive churn of players in the next summer transfer window.

The impending fate of Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton has made it clear that any promoted team would need to spend big and smartly and would still need a bit of luck to survive in the top flight.

Leeds United would need to bring in several players in the summer to make the squad Premier League-ready ready but there is also a real chance some of their current top players could still be in the team at the start of the season.

Joe Rodon – Deserves another chance in the Premier League after rebuilding his reputation at Leeds United

Rodon has started an astonishing 75 straight league games for Leeds and is the most durable player in the Whites squad. He has rebuilt his reputation at Elland Road and should be one of the first names on the team sheet at the start if they get promoted to the Premier League. The centre-back would be hoping to add to his 15 top-flight appearances.

Jayden Bogle – The best Championship right-back and can step up in the Premier League

Bogle has ensured that Daniel Farke hasn’t had to worry about the right-back slot this season. Chris Wilder has not stopped moaning about Sheffield United selling him last summer and he has been one of the best players at Elland Road. He has experienced the Premier League with the Blades and will be looking to get one more crack at a Leeds shirt.

Can you name the season these 10 Leeds United shirts are from?

1.

Ethan Ampadu – The Leeds United captain will be a certainty

Ampadu has struggled with injuries this season but the Leeds captain is one of the most important players in the squad. He is expected to return to action soon, and there is no doubt the Whites would be on the team sheet on the first day of the season in the Premier League.

Ao Tanaka – The player of the season at Elland Road

Probably the best midfielder of the Championship this season, Tanaka has also been the signing of the last summer transfer window and is seen as one of the players who is ready to play in the Premier League. He will be in the Leeds midfield at the start of next season.

Daniel James – the durable superstar

If not for Tanaka, James would have been the player of the season for Leeds. The Welshman has been brilliant for the Whites this term, and his wealth of experience in the Premier League makes it a certainty that he will be in the starting eleven at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
