Leeds lost key contributors to last season’s campaign. Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville all left to the English top flight.
With five games left in this season, Daniel Farke’s men are making a promotion push again. Leeds United secured a crucial away win against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night. The Whites remain top of the league, level on points with Burnley. This weekend, another crucial clash awaits at Elland Road.

Leeds will take on Preston this weekend in the early kick-off on Saturday. Heading into the game, Preston have just one win in their last eight games. The Whites will be expected to win at Elland Road, but recent results have shown that it will not be an easy run in these final games. Leeds could be without Dan James after his hamstring problem midweek.
Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchliffe has recently said that he believes Daniel Farke’s side are the best team in the Championship:
“I’ve always said, and my confidence in them hasn’t wavered, I said it is Leeds plus one. Leeds are the best side.
“You look at their performances, look at their dominance of the ball, the chances of goals they’ve scored, the goals they’ve conceded.” he said speaking on the Essential EFL Podcast.
“They are the best team, comfortably the best team in the league, the best team to watch as well.
“So that’s no disrespect to Burnley and Sheffield United. If they finish above Leeds and go up, well done.”
Is Hinchliffe right about Leeds being the best team in the league?
Looking at the Championship table right now, the Whites are the best team in the division. However, building up that lead has not been easy this season. The club have fought hard to get to the top, and are competing with Burnley, who have the biggest budget in the Championship. Hinchliffe does have a point, but Leeds are not by far the best team in the league.
