Daniel Farke needs to address one key area of the Leeds United squad ahead of the January transfer window.
The Whites have silenced doubters after a hot start to the Championship season with 29 points after 15 games. Leeds could have gone into the international break top of the table, but lost to Millwall as they could not take advantage of Sunderland dropping points the same weekend.
Daniel Farke continues to do an amazing job since he took charge last year. He is on course to seriously challenge for Premier League promotion after narrowly missing out last year. Leeds lost the playoff finals to Southampton in May.
The Leeds attack have the second best record in the league with 24 goals scored, but there is still something missing.

In the games Leeds United have failed to win this season, the pattern has been the same. The opponent takes an early lead, and Leeds struggle to break them down for the rest of the game. Daniel Farke’s team have a creativity problem, which the coach himself admitted early in the transfer window. Graham Smyth also reported that a number 10 is on the list for the January window:
“I’ve always thought that in January they’ll try and do a signing that helps in attacking midfield, like a 10 to put them over the top.
“If they have a flair player to bring in on loan from a Premier League club, maybe he’s not getting many minutes, maybe he can come in and add six or seven assists and a few goals, Leeds will be absolutely fine.”
The solution could be Manchester City midfielder James McAtee. The England U21 international has been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks.
McAtee is the ideal number 10 for this Leeds team; much like Georginio Rutter last season, the midfielder can score and create. When he was on loan at Sheffield United, he scored nine goals, provided three assists and created six big chances. The 22-year old has great feet and can dribble himself out of difficult situations. McAtee has an eye for a pass, and is comfortable spreading the ball to his teammates. He flourished in an attack alongside Illiman Ndiaye and Ollie McBurnie, and could easily replicate that alongside Joel Piroe.
Leeds have been crying out for his kind of creative presence after Rutter and Summerville left, Daniel Farke really has to push the club to make this deal happen. Especially after it was revealed that a move for Archie Gray could be off the table.
