Leeds United were victorious down at Craven Cottage last night as they defeated Fulham 6-5 on penalties following a goalless draw.
Deadline day signing Dan James started the match and played all 90 minutes before scoring his penalty in the shootout. However, this was probably the least exciting thing to happen to James yesterday.
It was revealed after the match that his partner had given birth around lunchtime, so James spent a few hours with his newborn. The Wales international then took a helicopter to London in order to make it to Craven Cottage in time for the game, where he was welcomed warmly by fellow dads Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas.
This kind of commitment will go a long way with Leeds fans, as James has illustrated the ‘side before self’ attitude that this club prides itself on. Congratulations to Dan James and his family.
