“They are…” – Jordan Henderson gives honest opinion on Leeds United after Brentford draw

Leeds United claimed a crucial point away at Brentford, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the net for the fourth Premier League game in a row earlier today.

That draw keeps the Whites in 17th place, maintaining a three-point cushion above the relegation zone after a testing afternoon against a Brentford side renowned for their strength at home.

The result was especially significant given Leeds’ struggles on the road, having lost six of their previous seven away league fixtures. A hard-fought 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium helped arrest that slide and restore some confidence.

Daniel Farke’s players once again showed resilience and belief, underlining that they possess both the quality and the mentality needed to give themselves a genuine chance of staying in the Premier League in their first season back.

Brentford star Jordan Henderson provides his honest opinion on Leeds United

Henderson conceded that Leeds were a tough side to play against, and his team found it hard to break them down even when they were the home side.

He pointed out that Leeds have proven themselves to be a good team by getting results against Chelsea and Liverpool. However, the midfielder believes Brentford should have done better to win the game after taking the lead.

“Leeds make it difficult; it is a difficult formation to try to break down. Leeds are a good side, and they came and made it difficult”, Henderson said on Sky Sports.

“They have got good results with the draw against Liverpool, and they beat Chelsea recently, so they are a good team. They were difficult to break down at times.

“But once you get your noses in front, we are disappointed we did not win the game and keep a clean sheet.

“We are disappointed not to win, but a point in this league against a good Leeds team, you have got to give them credit as well. We’ll take the point and move on.”

Leeds will now look to fix their away form

Farke will now hope that the draw against Brentford will be a start of something fresh for Leeds on the road in the Premier League this season.

After losing six of their seven games away from home, the point against Brentford will prove to be a confidence booster for a team who have some tough away trips lined up.

Brentford have a strong record at home, and Farke will now hope that his team take the confidence from this fixture to their next away game.

Leeds have away games lined up against teams such as Sunderland, Liverpool and Newcastle United in the next few weeks.
