It is early in the season, but the relegation battle lines have already been drawn. Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Burnley will fight to see who remains in the top flight.
Each team has had wildly contrasting seasons, but now, it looks like the Whites are the best in form out of all of them. It was just weeks ago that Farke was under pressure of being sacked and his club were sitting in the relegation zone. But Leeds have turned things around; they are currently on a five-match unbeaten streak, and have recorded impressive wins over Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
Fans at Elland Road will be in a great mood this weekend as the club picked up another valuable point over the weekend away to Sunderland. Up next is a daunting task as the Whites face Liverpool.
Leeds United boss takes a jab at rivals Nottingham Forest
The reverse fixture between both sides ended in a 3-3 draw in one of the more exciting matches this season. It took a last minute effort from Ao Tanaka to steal a point from 2-0 down inside the second half. In the build up to the game, Daniel Farke answered if his side can beat the Reds, by taking a jab at relegation rivals Nottingham Forest:
”We always have a chance and if there’s one shock result, it doesn’t change the probability of another one.
”Top sides lose against lesser teams in the table. We’re ahead of Nottingham but they qualified for Europe, spent £240m.
”Not that much of a shock like if we went there or Burnley and won.
”Not that we need encouragement from other games but we took encouragement from our performances.”

Whites must shake off away form at Anfield
This weekend will see the Whites on the road once again; Leeds have one of the worst away records in the Premier League this season. Farke’s side have accumulated over half of their points at Elland Road. This will pose a huge problem against a Liverpool side who have managed to string results together in the last couple of weeks.
| Statistic | Liverpool Home | Leeds United Away |
|---|---|---|
| Games | 9 | 9 |
| Points | 19 | 5 |
| Goals | 15 | 8 |
| Goals Conceded | 10 | 20 |
But there is hope, as the Whites have gotten a point out of their last two trips to the Stadium of Light and the Gtech Community Stadium. It will take another huge performance from this Leeds team to get a result against Arne Slot’s men.
