Leeds United are expected to be active in the winter transfer window, and the club are not completely out of the race to sign one of their top targets, despite recent developments surrounding his future.
Daniel Farke’s side have made a solid start to life back in the Premier League. They have eight points after six games, and have looked far away from being a side who could be struggling to survive in the top flight at the end of the campaign.
However, the Leeds boss is aware that there are gaps in his squad that were not plugged, and they could expose his team later in the season, unless reinforcements are brought in.
Leeds are plotting to bring in an attacking midfielder and a winger in the winter transfer window, and they have an ideal target lined up for the wide position ahead of January.
Leeds United are not out of the transfer chase for Fulham winger Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson was ready to join Leeds on deadline day in the summer. However, Fulham changed their mind about selling him just minutes before the end of the window.
Leeds are eyeing reviving the deal in January, but Marco Silva recently claimed that he expects the player to sign a new contract and commit his future to Fulham.
However, journalist Pete O’Rourke admitted that while the Cottagers are keen to tie him down to a new contract, Leeds are not completely out of the race.
He conceded that the Whites will not sign him if Wilson signs a new deal, but indicated that the player has not decided yet, and a final call has not been made.
“I wouldn’t say they’re [Leeds] totally out of the race. Obviously, it seems that Fulham are ready to sort of change their stance and try and tie down Wilson to a new contract”, O’Rourke said on Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast.
“As you said, he’s had a good start to the season, scored against Brentford last weekend [20 September] as well.
“And Marco Silva came out and admitted that Fulham are ready to discuss a new deal with Wilson.
“I think that would end Leeds’ hopes of landing the Wales international as well. Look, Wilson’s in the box seat here right now; he’s out of contract in the summer.
“He can decide for himself if he wants to sign a new deal or if he wants to explore his options on a pre-contract as a free agent as well. So look, it’s a difficult one.”
Leeds have other targets
Farke wants a winger, and Wilson remains one of Leeds’ top targets, given he wanted to join the club in the summer transfer window.
If he doesn’t sign a new contract until January, Leeds will pounce. But if he signs on fresh terms, he will not be leaving Fulham any time soon.
Leeds are aware of the issue, and they are lining up other targets, with the club believed to be keeping tabs on Internacional’s Brazil Under-20 winger Gustavo Prado.
