Leeds United were very active in the summer transfer window, bringing in 10 new faces to Elland Road. The plan was to add quality and depth to the team that finished with 100 points in the Championship.
Knowing how finances worked, Leeds were very careful with their spending. At the end of the window, they had only coughed up around £98million on permanent signings. Some have hit the ground running, while others will take time to adapt and develop. Many fans were not pleased with how the window ended, as they felt the club needed some firepower in attack.
Leeds created space in the squad by offloading a host of players. Many did not have a future in the first team as pointed out by Daniel Farke. Mateo Joseph, Patrick Bamford, Isaac Schmidt and Largie Ramazani all left Elland Road this summer.
QUIZ: Can you name the team Leeds United sold these players to?

Joe Gelhardt was another Leeds player who left the club early in the window. The forward has been looking for playing time over the past few years, and chose to return to Hull on loan, where he played last season.
He has had a great start to life so far, with two goals and an assist in six games. Gelhardt has won the Hull City player of the Month for August after his fine form during the five games.
Strong opening month of his return! 🏆

Serious questions over Leeds United boss’s man management
The success of recent players like Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Cresswell should raise questions around the club. These two players were two talented youngsters who developed at Elland Road and never really got the chance. But since they have been away from Leeds, they are flourishing.
They may seem like isolated incidents, but this summer’s saga with Mateo Joseph is yet another example of Farke not handling a young player well. Leeds fans may disagree, but Joseph was well within his rights to ask about his place in the team. With so many new signings, if he had been told where he was in the pecking order, things may have gone differently.
