Leeds United have been promised a huge transfer budget for this summer as they prepare for the Premier League. However, the team will need to be aware of PSR in the coming months.
Club chairman Paraag Marathe assured fans that the team will be backed. A reported £150million will be made available for transfers when the window opens.
Leeds United’s finances were not great from last year. The club incurred losses of £60.8million in 2023-24. The Whites will not face sanctions anytime soon, but they need to be cautious when spending this summer.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider that next year will be crucial for Leeds when it comes to finances:
“You will get to a position where even if they get through 2024-25 PSR okay, 2025-26 might be a challenge because that’s when they’re going to have the impact of the promotion bonus and a survival bonus.”
QUIZ: Can you name these 10 former Leeds United players?
Three players Leeds United could sell for PSR boost
With the summer window coming up, let us look at a few players that could be sold to give the club breathing space under PSR this year.
Pascal Struijk could leave Leeds United

Leeds fans will not like to hear this, but if PSR is a real danger, the captain might leave first. Pascal Struijk was signed for a low fee a while back and has developed from youth level to the first team. Because of this, PSR books seem him as ”profit” – any fee he goes for will be a significant impact on the books. Looking at his current value, he will command a sizeable fee if sold.
Wilfried Gnonto

Another small money signing. The Italian arrived from Switzerland for around £4million. At the current rate he is playing at, Leeds could easily command double of his fee in the future. Gnonto has increased his stock since arriving in England, and is now on the radar of some top clubs.
Illan Meslier

The Frenchman is already set to leave this summer. Meslier is another signing Leeds got for cheap. The shot stopper arrived from France for around £5million. And with some clubs in Europe’s top leagues interested, Leeds will make a nice profit on the initial outlay.
No probs with any of those 3 going add Wober Bamfraud to that list
Sign Solomon Sam Johnson Coufal Vardy Wilson to start
Struijk and Meslier i wouldn’t lose any sleep over, add Wober and Harrison to that list and you’ve got to be looking at around £35-£40m. I think Struijk can be a bit soft at times and if we can get a big fee for him, lets get him sold. Bring Elvedi and Balerdi in as replacements for Struijk and Wober.
