Three players who could replace Pablo Hernandez at Leeds United

Some would argue that in terms of impact on the club, nobody could truly replace Pablo Hernandez. The Spaniard’s 89th minute winner vs Swansea will be etched into the minds of Leeds United supporters forever.

But following the announcement that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, it’s time for Leeds to look at potential replacements.

So, today, we’re looking at 3 players who could replace Pablo Hernandez at Leeds United.

Rodrigo De Paul

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first, shall we? Leeds were linked with the Udinese midfielder last summer, with rumours only intensifying when he liked some tweets from fans expressing their desire for him to sign for the club. However, Udinese would likely expect a fee in the region of £30 million plus, something which may deter the Whites from making their move. He’s a top tier midfielder though, and if they could get this over the line, Leeds would mean business next season.

Teun Koopmeiners

A midfielder chipping in with 15 league goals is a gigantic achievement, but even more so when they’re only 23 years old. Koopmeiners has been a revelation in the Eredivisie for AZ Alkmaar over the past few seasons and will be hoping to impress for the Netherlands at the Euros this summer. Plenty of European clubs must be looking at Koopmeiners, and Leeds United should be one of them.

Matheus Pereira

Pereira was phenomenal in the Championship for West Brom last season as he scored 8 goals and earned 16 assists. He stepped up to the Premier League brilliantly, being West Brom’s best player with 11 goals and 6 assists. It’s pretty much assured that the Brazilian will leave West Brom this summer, and he would be fantastic for Leeds. His versatility means he can play on the wing or in midfield, something that would appeal to Marcelo Bielsa.
