After a superb first season back in the Premier League, Leeds need to add more quality to their club to help cement themselves as a Premier League club once more.
So, today we’re looking at three strikers Leeds United could sign this summer.
Neal Maupay
A mercurial footballer capable of playing up front and in an attacking midfield role, Maupay could be the perfect signing this summer. He’d provide an alternative to Bamford up front whilst offering options in midfield meaning Marcelo Bielsa could field him alongside Bamford in some way. He could fill the void left by the expected departure of Pablo Hernandez too and bring silk to the United attack.
Adam Armstrong
As clubs line up to bring in the Championship’s top scorer Ivan Toney, the performances of Blackburn’s Armstrong have gone under the radar. With 19 goals this season he’s the division’s third highest scorer. But what makes him an ideal target for Leeds is his willingness to drop deep and receive the ball and run with it. He’s also capable of playing on the wing giving Bielsa the versatility he so desires. One thing he might need to improve to settle in at Elland Road is a greater defensive awareness however.
Andre Silva
With 19 goals in 22 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, Silva is one of the competition’s top scorers. To achieve such status in a league full of outstanding goal scorers as well sturdy defences takes some doing. The Portuguese international would provide superb strength in depth to the Mighty Whites. He’d put pressure on Patrick Bamford no doubt bringing the very best out of him as they fight it out for the starting jersey. He’d also guarantee goals for a United side often on the attack.
