‘Total agreement’ and flight booked as Leeds United set to suffer huge transfer blow

Leeds United have had a decent transfer window for a newly promoted club. The aim of these new signings was to add quality and depth to the squad.

Sources say Daniel Farke and the recruitment team adopted a ”back to front” approach. They bolstered the midfield and defensive options before the attack. Leeds spent most of the past few weeks adding reinforcements to the middle of the park signing Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff.

Lucas Perri was the latest signing; the club added a new goalkeeper after sorting the defence and midfield.

The plan was to go after two major targets: Rodrigo Muniz and Igor Paixao. Two quality targets for the attack.

Marseille agree deal for Igor Piaxao

After a week of back and forth and conflicting reports, it looks like Marseille have won the race for Igor Paixao.

According to Fabrice Hawkins, the French side have reached a ‘total agreement’ with Feyenoord over the Brazilian. Paixao is now set to fly to France to complete his medical.

There has been no confirmation of the figures or fees of the deal yet.

Leeds United miss out on huge target

Fans will be frustrated that the club have ”missed out” on another target. The same thing happened when Habib Diarra chose to join Sunderland – but it was revealed it was because Leeds did not want to pay the fee.

The exact details as to why Paixao rejected a move have not been disclosed. Leeds were in the driving seat after talks stalled between Marseille and Feyenoord, but it looks like things have taken a turn.

Reports from France even claimed that former Leeds star Raphinha stepped in to convince his compatriot to move to England.

Jack Harrison gets another chance

Leeds’ major target is now possibly off the table, which opens the door even more for Jack Harrison. The forward has been given a second chance by Daniel Farke, who said that the 28-year old could be in the plans for next season.

It is very late in the transfer window and just a few weeks to the start of the Premier League. Leeds might have to settle with having Harrison around for the season.
