Leeds United secured Tottenham Hotspur attacker Manor Solomon this past summer transfer window, and the player is being tipped to stay at Elland Road past this season once his loan deal expires.

Solomon has made two appearances this 2024-25 Championship season with Leeds while registering one assist. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old is already dealing with injuries early on in his stint.

The forward missed the Whites’ 2-0 win over Cardiff City on Saturday due to a reported back problem. Moreover, Solomon has an injury history before arriving at Leeds.

Last season, Solomon missed 33 games because of a meniscus injury, and in the 2022-23 season, he was out for 17 matches after knee surgery. Although his current issues aren’t related to his back, it can be challenging for a player to shake off the “injury-prone” label once it’s attached to them.

Will Manor Solomon stay at Leeds long-term?

Despite the minor hurdle this week, Tottenham expert John Wenham believes that the Israel international will be staying with Leeds past the expiration date of his loan agreement.

“I really hope that this loan move goes well,” Wenham said (h/t The Boy Hotspur). “Solomon is too good for the Championship. Therefore, he would probably suit a bottom-half Premier League team.

“Hopefully he absolutely smashes it and gets himself into the team of the season. I could then see him making his move to Leeds permanent next summer for around £10 million. It is a really good loan and I’m delighted that he has gone straight into the team.”

Daniel Farke and his team secured the away win over Cardiff City despite not having Solomon on Saturday. The Bluebirds were in trouble when defender Joel Bagan was sent off with a straight red for a last-man foul, leaving his team down a man.

Leeds quickly took advantage, with Largie Ramazani scoring in the 30th minute to put the visitors ahead 1-0. Joël Piroe provided the insurance goal that gave Leeds United the 2-0 victory and the three points.

The Whites will face another struggling Championship side next weekend—Coventry City. It will be interesting to see whether Solomon is fit for this matchup or if his back problem continues.
