Leeds United are focused on preparing for their big game against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane tonight but promotion talk around the club is growing louder. Leeds seem to be on their way to securing automatic promotion to the Premier League and even Daniel Farke has indicated that they are closing in on their goal. It has led to speculation over what Leeds would need to do in the summer to ensure they have a squad to survive in the top flight of English football. They are expected to strengthen in all areas of their squad in their attempt to raise the quality of their squad by several manifolds. However, Leeds are also keen to ensure that they hold on to one of their most important players from this season.
It is hard not to focus on what Leeds United need to do in the next transfer window for survival in the Premier League even before Leeds have sealed their return to the top flight.
Leeds need a calamitous loss of form to not finish in the top two from here on and Farke has already admitted that 20 more points from their remaining 13 league games should get the job done.
The club would have a task at hand in the summer as this season has proved that the gap between the Premier League and the Championship has only grown wider and deeper.
Leeds will need quality additions to their squad in every area of their squad and the club will have to make some tough calls on certain players despite their role in getting them to this position this season.
However, there is one player Leeds are keen to hold on to and it seems work is already underway behind the scenes to set up a deal in the summer.
Tottenham identify price for Manor Solomon’s sale – Leeds United must move soon
Solomon joined Leeds on loan from Tottenham last summer and while he took a while to settle, the winger has been in terrific form since December.
His performances have played a key role in ensuring that Leeds are in a good position to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Leeds need to get promoted if they want to sign the winger on a permanent deal and it seems work is underway to set up a deal for the summer transfer window.
They are expected to hold talks with Tottenham soon and according to GiveMeSport, the north London club have a price in mind for his departure.
It has been claimed that Tottenham are ready to listen to offers for Solomon for a fee in the region of £10m and £15m in the next summer transfer window.
Solomon is focused on getting Leeds promoted and once it happens, the Whites will be prepared to make a proper move to land him on a permanent deal.
Everton are also interested in Solomon but Leeds would believe if they are in the Premier League they would be able to convince him to return to Elland Road in the summer.
Solomon would be a steal at that price for Leeds
Solomon’s impact on the team since he replaced Wilfried Gnonto in the starting eleven in December has been immense. His goals and assists have propelled Leeds to consolidate their position at the summit.
The winger has been a constant menace on the left-hand side of Leeds’ attack and has combined well with the rest of the forward line in the last few weeks.
Leeds fans want the club to seal a deal to sign the winger on a permanent deal from Tottenham in the summer and it seems the latter are willing sellers.
Can you name the Leeds game these 10 goal celebrations are from?
Promotion is the key but with Leeds looking like they will be in the Premier League next season, they can start work on setting up the deal for the summer.
With Spurs willing to sell him for a relatively low fee in the Premier League, Leeds must ensure Solomon is in their squad when they start preparing for the top flight next season.
Everton and a few other clubs are also keen on the winger but his experience at Elland Road this season should give Leeds a heads-up in the race.
