Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has reiterated the significance of the club signing a new striker and adding more quality to their forward line before the end of the transfer window. The Whites are in the hunt to add more goals and creativity to their team in the next few weeks.

The striker search has dragged on for weeks as Leeds focused on adding more depth and quality to their defence and midfield in the early part of the transfer window. However, the club remain determined to bring in more forwards before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz is the top target at Elland Road, and Leeds are also considering a move for Everton striker Beto. However, the Whites are not against the idea of bringing in a striker from Europe this summer.

Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo has been mentioned as a target, and Leeds are also monitoring the situation of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, who Roma are open to selling before the end of the window.

Leeds United target offered to AC Milan and Juventus

Roma are open to selling the 28-year-old striker, who scored 17 goals in all competitions last season, after signing Evan Ferguson from Brighton this summer.

Leeds and West Ham are two English clubs who have made enquiries for Dovbyk, and Roma are expecting offers from the Premier League for him this summer.

However, he could also stay in Italy, as according to Italian daily Il Messaggero, his agent has also been offering him to Serie A clubs.

It has been claimed that AC Milan and Juventus are two clubs his representatives have contacted to offer Dovbyk for a transfer in the ongoing transfer window.

Roma are looking to earn a minimum of £25m from his sale, and while they are pushing for the overall deal to touch the £30m mark with add-ons.

Dovbyk has scored 42 goals in the last two seasons for Girona and Roma, respectively, and is expected to find a buyer before the window closes in less than four weeks.

Leeds run the risk of the striker market getting even more complicated

The strikers have always come at a premium, but this summer their prices have shot up astronomically, and it is only going up every day.

Leeds do not have the funds to spend a massive sum on a striker this summer, but they may have to break their club-record fee to bring one in.

Rodrigo Muniz’s price is not going to come down massively, given that more Premier League clubs are interested in him, and even players such as Beto could command a considerable fee.

Dovbyk has scored 42 goals over the last two seasons, and at £30m, he seems good value for money. It could get complicated for Leeds if AC Milan or Juventus decide to take up the bait.
