Jesse Marsch won’t be remembered fondly at Leeds United. He did save the team from relegation in the Premier League in the 2021/22 season but the next campaign was horrible as the team continued to slide under the American before he was sacked.
The American will always be held as one of the men responsible for Leeds getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season despite him getting sacked midway through the campaign.
Marsch’s record in the transfer window was not stellar as well but Victor Orta was blamed for the poor signings Leeds made since getting promoted to the Premier League at the end of the 2019/20 season.
The former Leeds coach did push for bringing in signings from the MLS and one of the players he wanted is now attracting interest from two top Championship clubs.
Philadelphia Union left-back Kai Wagner was heavily linked with a move to Leeds when Marsch was their manager but he could be arriving in England in the winter transfer window.
Frank Lampard wants former Leeds target at Coventry City
Wagner has continued to attract interest from the Championship ahead of the winter transfer window.
According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Frank Lampard is pushing to bring in to Coventry City after recently becoming their new manager.
The new Coventry boss is a fan of Wagner and believes he can add a spark to his squad for the latter half of the season.
However, Coventry will face serious competition from promotion-chasing Burnley who are also massive admirers of the left-back.

He is also attracting serious attention from Italy where Atalanta and Parma have expressed concrete interest in signing him in the winter window.
Wagner also has suitors in Spain and Germany and there is expected to be serious competition for his signature in January.
Leeds are also expected to spend money in the January window to boost their promotion hopes and it remains to be seen whether they choose to rekindle their interest in Wagner.
