Two huge transfers completed as Leeds United draw closer to finalizing deadline day deal

It has been a rough past few days for Leeds United. After a huge loss to Arsenal, followed by a shock defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, the rest of the week did not go according to plan.

Leeds thought they finally had their dream signing in Facundo Buonanotte. The Brighton star emerged as an option after deals for Bilal El Khannouss and Gus Hamer failed to materialize. Talks had been held and an agreement had been reached with the Seagulls as the Whites convinced them of a loan deal.

All was set for Friday, with a flight having been booked for the player. But he cancelled at the last minute. Buonanotte and his camp had received a call from Chelsea, who hijacked the deal and finalized a season-long loan for the 21-year old.

This weekend saw the Whites consider multiple targets after missing out on Buonanotte. Dilane Bakwa, Bilal El Khannouss, Emi Buendia and Gus Hamer were all considered.

But on Monday, a surprise option emerged. Reports revealed that Leeds had held talks with Fulham over a move for Harry Wilson. The forward had agreed terms with the club. However, the initial loan offer was rejected, before the Whites put forward a permanent offer. A major update from Joe Donnohue then revealed that a deal for Wilson would only be possible if Fulham got their preferred targets.

The London club had deals in place for Samu Chukwueze, Kevin and Tyrique George. Fabrizio Romano has now officially confirmed that Fulham have sealed deals for Kevin and Chukwueze.

These two moves go a long way to help Leeds United complete their deadline day move for Harry Wilson.

Wilson provides a reliable option out wide

Harry Wilson is an experienced player who has been a massive part of Fulham’s Premier League campaigns. He brings in a lot of experience and most importantly stability in the position. Wilson has been a solid contributor when it comes to goals and assists – he has 17 goal involvements in the last two seasons.

He is always available and has an impressive fitness record. Leeds would be adding an underrated player to the team.

Minutes ticking away and still no deals done. How much money does Underwood and his team get? The idiots in the 49s trusted them and it will cost them Millions in lost revenue. This is down to the amateur arrogant approach of the 49s thinking recruitment is easy for Premiership football. Red bull is now Brown bull backing with it all coming out of one end. This was an opportunity to keep Leeds in the top level and progress. It is clearly the fault of the 49s choices, look how Sunderland got the job done ….. professional recruitment team and no excuses

Why is it, we wait wait wait and wait to sign big names then ultimately lose out. Sunderland to name but one have made our recruitment look like a Vanarama team, it;s an utter disgrace.
