Fabrizio Romano rules out two names from Leeds’ vacancy

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has ruled out the possibility of Leeds hiring Mauricio Pochettino or Marcelo Gallardo anytime soon.

Leeds dismissed Jesse Marsch after a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest with Michael Skubala serving as interim coach. The Whites picked up a point in midweek against Man United and were unlucky to lose to the Red Devils as two late goals decided the result.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Pochettino and Gallardo will not be the next Leeds coach for different reasons. He says former Spurs boss Pochettino is looking for a ‘different project’ from Leeds.

“Despite some speculation, I’m not aware of Mauricio Pochettino being in contact with Leeds. They know he’s waiting for different kind of club with different ambitions,”

On former River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo, Fabrizio says the Argentine has ‘no intention’ of joining:

“Personally, I’d go for former River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo, I think he would be an amazing choice and a top coach in my opinion, but at the moment he has no intention to accept a job at Leeds.”

The Whites are still without a manager ahead of this week’s Premier League clash with Everton.
