Leeds United will be dreading how they entered the October international break. They could have had six points in their last two games, but were denied by Tyler Adams and Bournemouth, and Thomas Frank’s Spurs side.
The game against Fulham in September was a huge turning point – Daniel Farke decided to shake up the line up. In came Brenden Aaronson and Noah Okafor into the attack alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Leeds failed to score in that game, but there was enough optimism for upcoming matches.
The Whites registered their first away win of the season with Okafor and Calvert-Lewin both netting in a 3-1 win.

Up next was Bournemouth, where Leeds players would be meeting their former colleague Tyler Adams. The American’s reception at Elland Road was mixed, as some booed his name when the lineups were announced. Adams has now spoken on what the atmosphere was like when he returned to his former club.
“There’s something about it that I absolutely love. I don’t know what it was. I don’t know if it was being back there.” he said on the Men In Blazers podcast.
“I don’t know if it was the energy of the game.
I obviously knew what was going to happen, and it was what it was, but I enjoyed every second that I played there, circumstances, what they were, and I left obviously, and then going back there was just, it was just a joy to be back.”
“You have to think 35,000 people in a stadium cheering against you. Like I’m from Wappingers Falls.
I don’t know if there are 35,000 people in Wappingers Falls. They had the energy to cheer against me. I love that.”
Bournemouth game a warning sign for Daniel Farke
The game at Elland Road was hotly contested, but Leeds had the upper hand for most of the game. Bournemouth scored first, but the Whites came back, and took the lead in the second half. Daniel Farke’s side had a few chances to put the game to bed, but failed.
The Cherries found a winner in added time to escape with a draw. Leeds lost to Spurs in a similar fashion, missing their chances while the opponent took their limited opportunity to score. Farke has to find a way to fix that as the season goes on.
