Saturday’s clash between Arsenal and Leeds United will be an exciting tie after seeing how both sides navigated their opening games. Both sides carried crucial three points from their games this week.

Leeds shocked Everton with a 1-0 win at Elland Road on Monday night, while Arsenal got a 1-0 win over bitter rivals Manchester United. Many would think that the Whites have the upper hand going into this tie, as any defeat does not negate the three points they already have at this stage of the season.

What will be more impressive to watch is the playing styles – Leeds pressed and closed down Everton all over the pitch, not allowing them to play to their style. Arsenal were pinned back by Manchester United for most of their game, with the gunners still managing to pick up a win. It will be interesting to see how both sides approach the game at the Emirates – Daniel Farke has made it clear that Leeds will not park the bus.

Mikel Arteta’s side have a few injury worries ahead of Saturday’s game. The main one being Kai Havertz being ruled out with a serious knee injury. Outside that, Arteta has confirmed that there are some other doubts for the match at the Emirates:

”Christian [Norgaard] won’t be in the squad. With Ben [White], let’s see how he reacts and what we decide. Christian will be out for another week or so.”

The Arsenal boss also said that the club are managing injury loads to Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Jesus, who could feature in a limited capacity

Arsenal will also be without one key player – according to the Evening Standard, Arsenal have missed the deadline to register Eberechi Eze in time to play the game on Saturday. When Mikel Arteta was asked about the midfielder’s availability, he said that Eze is ”not part of our group yet”.

Leeds have injury problems of their own

Leeds United will be without Ethan Ampadu in the middle of the park. He went off with an injury on Monday night, and even though it was considered minor, it has now been confirmed that he will be out till the international break.

Outside that, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also being monitored as he ramps up fitness. New signing Noah Okafor could feature in the game on Saturday night.
