Gary Neville was on commentary for Leeds United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Elland Road on Sunday evening.
Neville decided to point out Patrick Bamford’s movement in light of the England forward not scoring a goal so far this season. “It’s not obvious to everyone at home watching because he had very little of the ball.”
“His runs and movements cause problems.” Neville went on to suggest that it was Bamford’s movement and positioning that got him into the England squad above all else, in agreement with Martin Tyler.
Bamford is yet to score so far this season, but he has had very little service from his midfielders in the opening few games. He’s been making the runs, but not simply not getting the chances he needs.
